continued from last night

Last night i wrote about puttering(including smoke) problems with my 99 boxster.Well today it does not start at all. When i try to start it a large amount of smoke continues to come out of the exhaust. Please help!

Sounds like probable air/oil separator failure. Easy part to swap out for $100.

Thanks for the reply. Now for the stupid question. What does it look like and where is it located and is there anything i can do in the mean time to get it going? Thanks again matthewjlms986

How to replace the AOS: Oil Seperator and Oil Filler Pipe Replacement

The AOS is located in the engine compartment. If you don't know how to get there, see this thread:

DO NOT drive the car with it smoking badly....serious engine damage could result. Don't even start it!

I am no mechanologist, but you didn't by chance give it any throttle when trying to start it through this whole ordeal did you? What color is the smoke, is it a blue/gray color or black, as one is a fuel problem, and the other is an oil problem. Before we trouble shoot, we need to know what we are trouble shooting! .

I was and is grayish smoke. I was told that probaly the air/oil seperator. I changed that out today with no improvement. Still has some smoke coming out exhaust when trying to start
