Talking EVO air intakes/induction, your opinions please

Hello all,

I'm new to forum after having got a black 2003 boxster last month.
All my previous cars E-class,C-class,A3,and TT (crap car crap dealers), had mods inc K&N filters or K&N induction kits Typoon etc.

Im getting a EVO air intake kit put on the porsche in 2 weeks time by specialist, however!!!

all previous intake kits had air dam tubes to deliver more cold air to the cone filter.

Has anyone had any engine temp problems with EVO intake/induction kits or is the temp running ok ?

Many thanks

You'll have absolutely no temp problems. Be sure that the filter is not over-oiled: it can cause MAF problems. Beyond that, you'll love it!

It does sound better but I wouldn't expect a whole lot in terms of performance gains. Do you really wax your car every 2nd day?

wax every 2nd day

yes i do wax every 2nd day, either quik detailer mist to keep swwet, or meguiars clean wax, gold wax, or meguiars selant. My wife to be hates kids. ive got more time and money on my hands than most so i like tolook at and spoil my car on these nice summer evenings.. Car is parked streetside with other convertiables, audis, bmws, mercs, ferraris etc and all get massive london road film/smog and leaves and stuff..so good to keep clean esp for cruising notting hill for the ladies

Steve00s is right. Don't expect giant power gains, but you will feel a little more umph. The sound is great.

yeah, don't expect ANY hp gains, but do expect your mpg to go down from gunning it.
the sound is GREAT and worth every penny for the overpriced piece that doesn't give you power. i still don't understand how they still keep getting sold with no HP gains.
although i did see a chart with an actual 5hp gain somewhere form the EVOMS intake.

the reason why people think that they get a lot of HP from an intake is that as soon as they put it on they run the car harder than what they did before and feels faster.
