Chemical smell in front trunk?

Yesterday, I noticed a chemical-type smell when I open the front trunk. If you leave the trunk open for a few minutes, it goes away, but close the trunk, come back in a little while, and it's back. There are no visible fluids either in the trunk or under the car.

Does anybody have any ideas what it could be before I try to get a service appointment at the dealer?

If your car is still fairly new it might be the spare tire is still outgassing. Just a thought.

I had a chemical smell [anti freeze] smell in my cockpit, when my cap leaked. Updated that and all is well.
