2000 Rear Speakers Not Working

We recently purchased a used 2000 boxter and noticed the rear speakers don't work. I'm guessing there is a short somewhere in the wire or they became unhooked at the back of the radio.

How would I go about removing the radio to check the rear of it?

You have to use a set of radio keys, the radio removal is included in the material covered in this web page.

I'd check the rear connection to the speakers at the storage panel first... it is required to be unplugged if someone needed to remove the storage compartment, like to work on the engine... info about this is covered on that same page.
