Seriously. What a tragedy.

I read an article... checked the intersection where the chopper went down, for I had an office off Las Virgenes a couple decades ago, steps from the water district office. The copter went down just a couple blocks away. Quite hilly and mountainous in that area. Again, what a tragedy for all the lives lost.

Yeah, ditto that.
It's so weird, I never was particularly a Kobe fan (or a Lakers fan, for that matter), but I've been unbelievably bummed out at the news of his (as well as the others) passing. On top of his amazing feats on the court, he was, following his retirement, branching out in a most impressive way. Smart guy, "worldly" in so many ways, and always the engaging smile. He will be missed by many, including me.

Yeah seems he was a really nice guy, always said hi to my sister as they were picking up their daughters at school.
