So based on your responses I can surmise that one, you voted? I'll put you down as a yes. Two, you voted for the budget hawks otherwise known as the conservative wing of the GOP. Three, these Republicans passed the budget with one hand and this absurd tax "reform" with the other. From the moment those changes took effect the annual deficit rises from $650 bn to $1+ Trillion. And then again another $1 trillion in the second and current year. The largest YoY increase from one administration to the next in history and potentially the first administration in our history to see $1 trillion dollar annual deficits in each of its first term.
Am I getting all this right?
Let's move on... NY, NJ, Massachusetts were ALREADY sending more in federal taxes then their states see back in federal appropriations. Given the staggering increase in new federal expenditures, both on and off budget, by the "budget Hawks" in the GOP then why are ONLY NY, NJ, Massachusetts paying more federal tax than their state gets in appropriations, aka their share of the burden today?
So Let's look at that burden... If we spend a trillion on the defense, a trillion on Medicare, (that's already more than $2 trillion we collect from federal income tax through this tax "reform" for the kids counting at home.. ie. officially deficit territory), another half trillion in interest on the debt (maybe the states that pay no net federal income tax will be picking that up? Crickets) and we haven't even gotten to discretionary side of the ledger which of course these GOP budget hawks increased by the largest margin since the financial collapse. Because that's easier than admitting we aren't even covering our mandatory spending + interest anymore.
So if what we collect in income tax doesn't even cover the military and caring for all citizens 65 and older on Medicare then explain to me how corporations should have gotten a 20% tax cut? How the top tax bracket should have been reduced 2.5%, how states that pay no federal income tax get even more of a subsidy (hat tip Mitt Romney again), while the states like NY, NJ, Massachusetts, etc. are the only ones making the extra payment to cover the mandatory side of the federal ledger?
Oh right but I'm the one that doesn't understand how federal taxes work and needs a lesson from an accountant. It's interesting how some people here rationalize their own tax cut and declare that others are not carrying their own weight.

All these stories that people got smaller refunds, duh if you get more in each paycheck then it makes sense you may get a smaller refund. What I want to know is now that 4/15 is here (Anyone owing uncle Sam probably waited till now to pay) what are the real effects. Yes I got more each pay check but I had to pay it back with interest, loan shark interest.
I guess next year I'll have to sell my 986 to cover my tax bill or move to Mississippi.

Jesus Christ! Stay in NJ you idiot.
Hell yeah I voted. I didn't want that crooked, conniving, treasonous pos Hillary Clinton becoming President. So far I have been pretty happy with President Trump. Only issues so far has been the two missile strikes on Syria and when he said take the guns first and due process later. I could have punched him in the face when that came out of his mouth. Now there are these stupid "Red Flag" laws popping up everywhere.
The budget has been so high because President Trump is trying to rebuild our Military. Now tell me Mr GOP is bad guy. What in the **************** did you get out of the 9 ****************ing trillion dollars Obama spent? You got ****************ing nothing, that's what you got and the worst recovery from a recession ever in history.
Obama didn't even get us a recovery, he got us into a worse situation that is going to be very hard on us unless President Trump can keep jobs coming and China's cheap ass crap out of our Country.
As for the rest of your post, go **************** yourself with your Socialist crap. ,,l,,

Okay I see that our disagreement largely lies on the basis that you likely attended Trump University School of Enron Accounting. It's not your fault you have legal recourses.
The 2019 Defense Budget was passed on a 90% bipartisan basis in both Chambers. So your narrative that it's because of Trump is Fox Newsy/Infowars right from the start. The 2018 appropriation was consistent with the 2019 bipartisan budget.
The 4% DoD increase that President WikiLeaks is proposing for 2020 equals $30 billion of the $1 trillion deficit. So yeah like 3% of the largest deficit in history. Are you starting with the lowest component of these historic spending increases by the GOP budget hawks and working your way up to the really juicy parts like an episode of the Apprentice?

Orange man bad.
NJ should get zero Federal dollars now that it's a sanctuary State.

Ha ha you're right, I won't be back to this thread as I made my point clear. No further interaction is needed as he is on a different planet then most of us.

Yeah, most of us wish he'd shut-down his twitter account.
And I would prefer he not speak to cameras, either.
I miss the real statesmen who used to run for President; Reagan. Kennedy. Hell, even Carter was better than anyone who's gained the nomination from either party in a LONG time.
I wish I'd been given a chance to vote for someone I WANTED to vote for.... instead of having to hold my nose in the booth.

there is hardly a day that goes by when Trump says something Trumpy and I don't immediately think "what would Ronald W. Reagan have done in this situation that 9 times out of 10 both furthered conservative ideals and reminded everyone why he was the only Republican the majority of Democrats trusted (being that he carried every single Democrat state but one even though they denied his party control of the Congress). Every Democrat state but one... I think his version of tax "reform" would have looked very different today. Ditto for immigration reform, his response to these mass shootings and certainly all this praise for a dictator/gangster running the second largest nuclear arsenal.
When Regan's head hit that pillow every night you knew he believed what he was saying. And he had no need to convince everyone that he was the smartest guy in the room or felt it necessary to put people down with petty personal insults. Humility and rational thought.
