Fuel Separation Systems

What do fuel air separation systems like Fass Fuel do for diesel vehicles? Is it recommended to install one on diesel engines?

In a nutshell, the injectors don't like air going trough them. A fuel filter/water separator is more important to keep your injectors happy but keeping air out of the injector is right behind. What diesel and year do you have?
