BMW Pickup Truck

Sure, its a custom. But its only a matter of time before the Germans (including Porsche) launch factory trucks. With SUV/CUV sales through the roof, how much longer can the Germans ignore the nearly 2M unit truck market? Probably not much longer.

VW has a truck (Amarok) in foreign markets already... akin to the Tacoma.

This is the answer to a question no one has asked.
It my be cool, but it's also totally pointless. No manufacturer sells many mid size trucks.
If you were truly truck shopping, wouldn't a Z71 Silverado (or any other full size V8 4x4) be what most North Americans would want to roll in?

I am wondering if the luxury truck market would be similar to the SUV market - meaning that the vast majority of SUV buyers essentially use their SUV like a minivan.

Might luxury German truck buyers purchase a mid-size truck since they will rarely use it for actual truck purposes?

Hey - didn't Ford release the Ranger again last year in many parts of the world? And the Australian Holden is very popular. Those are both half-sized pickups, so must be a niche market in parts of the world.

Anything is possible.....but I still can't decide if the BMW is crazy ugly or actually kind of cool. Would have to see it in person to really decide.

Maserati is making a SUV & I think Bentley & Jaguar is too.

I was looking forward to buying a Pontiac/Holden Camino based on driving a Holden Monaro 6-speed LS-1 right-hand drive version.
