Fortune suggests that the following 10 cars might be worth bringing back modern versions (like the Mustang and Camaro).

Being a true air-cooled VW guy...I would love to see a re-creation of the Microbus, but it would have to be done right to not come off as a minivan.
I've owned a few old school vw's..actually sold my 58 recently to join the Porsche (986) world, loving the Boxster but something about the unreliable, slow, oil dripping VW's that I miss.

Excellent picture. Brings back memories.

I did noticed the passenger side rear tire's "custom" alignment setting.
That setting helps you to make a sharp right turn, right?

BTW, I always thought the oil drip was the GPS-like-aid before the GPS.
You know, just in case you need to go home quick.

Hahaha..yes, the oil drips made it hard to cover your tracks..everyone always knew where you've been! (nice to not have an oily piece of cardboard in the garage anymore)
The rear tires "custom" alignment is the downside to running a lowered swing axle suspension set-up. The car looked great, but rode like an old haywagon! Surprisingly handled not too bad but with 36hp under the lid, you weren't feeling too many G-forces at work!

I loved my '88 Fiero and wouldn't hesitate to buy one if I came across one in good condition. It was an awesome little car.

Funny, I had a 86 Fiero.. loved the speakers in the headrest...
Shifter was arm reach.. those were the dayz..

I passed my driver's test in my mom's Metropolitan in 1961. She often drove myself and 3 friends to high school. I can hardly believe now that we all fit in - must have looked like a clown routine when we got out. I even got laid in it - Heidi was a very short girl.

Had two VW buses over eleven years endlessly adjusting the valves. Went through three engines, always the No3 cylinder. Two copies of the Idiot's Guide. It was the first thing I ever taught myself without a class or teacher. Gave me confidence in using my hands so when I graduated U Berkeley I became a carpenter, later cabinetmaker.

I'd like to see a proper microbus with old school charm and modern technology that works. I saw a beautiful fully restored '57 356 Speedster for sale this morning at the PCA breakfast. $29K sounded pretty fair to me. Where is that drool emoticon when you need it?

Rediculous list. The Jeep Wagoneer? They were complete junk. There's nothing redeeming about them. Secondly, what's to bring back? The Cherokee successor has always been available. This author doesn't know what (s)he is talking about.
