And it's not hard to slide on ice, even with snow tires.

he has said he will sell the car because he can't afford the taxes or the $7000 / yr. insurance bill. apparently it was a prize from a grocery store loyalty card. maybe next time they'll give away a ford instead.

I am positive I would have done the same thing driving it in the snow... here is the logic- the guy obviously cannot afford the car, the taxes, or the insurance and will be selling it as soon as possible. Knowing that the car would be sold to a low baller before Jan 1 so that he could prove a loss on the prize winnings, he HAD to drive it while he had it. He wont be able to wait until Spring because he cannot afford the taxes without an immediate sale.

If you have the opportunity to drive a supercar unbridled, even given the bad conditions vs. not ever being able to know how awesome the lamborghini really is, would you just let it sit in a garage? I doubt the wreck was intentional, but it was predictable!

He still has to pay taxes on the winning - just as if he had won the lottery.

I saw the snow on the ground, then read his story and with what relatively small damage there was (meaning repairable) that I believed it. Tires on that car in that weather = no traction! Add to that you touch the throttle and the bull starts kicking and there you go. Nasty color though.
