Newbie needs help!

Hey guys, '05 987( UK) owner here. New to Porsche and would like some inside info.. Here goes
My ac fan makes a brrr noise as it rotates. It sounds like it's hitting something. I removed the baffle down in the passenger footwell so I can get at the underside of the blower. When I rotated it by hand it didn't seem to be striking anything. When I turned the fan on with the switch it was making the noise but I noticed the whole fan mechanism had slipped down a bit and when I pushed it up and held the side the noise stopped, indicating that it was more vibration making the noise than a moving part striking a non moving part...
Anyone heard of this or suggestions greatly appreciated....
