2001 Boxster non S with Red calipers?

I just purchased a 2001 non S Boxster which has factory red calipers. I own a few porsches but don't know how this one has red calipers. Could you order that as an option in 2001 on a base Boxster? This particular PO ordered the Boxster with the factory speedsters humps (which look awesome) and chromes wheels, so would not be surprised if he added those calipers on the order. Porsche salesman was stumped as well when I showed him the pics of the car.

No, but there were retrofit kits from Brembo that would do it at the time (but no longer available).

But would those Brembo kits be labeled Porsche on them, I wouldn't think so. The PO must have purchased them after.

Yes, they were labeled Porsche; in the day, we installed several of these kits.

Ok great, that must be it. I have quite a detailed history of work on the car, did not see this upgrade kit anywhere in any work orders, but glad to know.

Thanks again
