Tiptronic swaps.

Hello,
New to the world of forums, not new to turning wrenches. I fell into the rabbit hole and now I'm looking for a replacement transmission for my 986. This is a base model 2.5 1997. Can some one point me in the right direction of whay years will swap without much heart break.
I bought it as a running condition unknown car, it runs like a dream but it had a very stiff shifter/cable issue. Long story short it was driven a short way but the tires were shot, parked it but it refused to go into park. I suspect a piece of linkage has broken. This will be addressed after I replace the trans so I have a good luck charm spare.
