In this case the engine sill be fitted with an M97 IMSB. It has the same chance of living as all the 2006-2008 cars, which is very good as long as it is is not tracked. Change the oil 4X more frequently than the factory says, and just drive.

I hope you find some enjoyment from the car in the end...

I can't imagine having to dump that kind of $$ right off the bat. I personally would have probably just searched out a used engine and took my chances from there as you could put two or three used engines in for the price of some of the varous rebuilds which frequently do not have all that much warranty anyways. Raby obviously builds really good engines and charges for them as well and there are plenty of people that have had great experiences and will vouch for his product. The only thing I get tired of is hearing him do the same. If your product is the best, just sit quiet and let your customers do the advertising for you...no need to knock down your competition (whether you want to acknowledge them as competition or not) with every discussion.

2004 s

Got a call from Jake this afternoon, and things are progressing nicely and ahead of schedule. Could have the car back in 10 days. I feel like a kid waiting on Christmas to get here. More to come...

Resurection

OK finally getting around to an update, but I've been busy DRIVING! Almost 2000 miles on the car since I picked it up at Flat 6. First I have to say I am really glad I didn't let this car go when it seemed like a total loss. Jake and the guys at Flat 6 resurrected this baby and I just have to say DAMN!! I absolutely love this car. Having daily driven and tracked Miata's for the past 10 years I feel like I have entered a new realm. Actually I guess I have. This car, since being resurrected has surpassed all of my expectations. What else can I say? Just a huge shout out for Jake and the team at Flat 6 Innovations. Top notch work and incredible customer service through the whole experience.

This is awesome news. And the peace of mind you must have knowing you have an m96 engine minus the issues must be fantastic. Congrats.

Glad to hear that you're driving your Boxster. I have had the top down in November and December quite a bit with the great weather. Let's connect one day soon...I'm trying to find others in Atlanta that drive these wonderful cars!

I'm right outside of downtown Atlanta. Near Downtown Decatur and East Atlanta.
