I was in the same boat a year ago, bought a 99 with 32,000. I was going to just take my chances but very soon broke down and had the IMS replaced along with the RMS and the clutch since they were in there (~$2500). I now have the bearing on my desk at work, all indication were the bearing was fine.

I will tell you you will love the car!!
