first time 986 owner

Hey everyone!

Just got a 986, base model in slate grey, a little over a month ago, and I've been actively reading these threads to understand the ins and outs of the car. So far, everything has been so helpful.

UNFORTUNATELY, I drove up to Chicago to pick up the beauty and drove it down to West Tex, (where we're currently stationed) and got into a fender bender with a pick up truck right outside of OKC. Long story short, a semi cut me off and forced me to shift lanes quick. I didn't see the pick up truck quickly creeping up and BAM. It's been in the shop since Sept 6 and hopefully i get it back ASAP. It's finally not 100deg EVERYDAY so it's tolerable to drive topless.

safe driving everyone!

Aimee

Welcome to the forum! West Texas? Which base? I've been reading a lot about the speed limits out there. I used to drive from Austin to El Paso and remember miles and miles of nothing but brush. Have they moved the limit up to 85?

Thank you Topless!

Schnell: We're not really TOO far west, we're startioned at Dyess AFB. My husband AF. As of right now, i haven't noticed speed limits to be 85, but I did hear about them changing it to 80mph.

Originally we're both from Illinois, and the highest speed limit is only 60/65.

Welcome to the forum.

It looks like you need to get one of these... it fits perfectly in the boxster!
