I have and use that tool, it does an excellent job of holding the flywheel. When I bought mine, they were only $23 retail. It should come with a special bolt.
I am a firm believer in buying the right tool for the job. I am thinking of purchasing the flywheel locking tool 00072195381 for my IMS retrofit project I am doing. Do you feel that would be money well spent instead of doing a DIY, and is it an easy tool install / use. I can't find any pictures of it actually installed. Thanks in advance for your advise.
Hi JFP in PA, was reading through your oil recommendations for boxster, and it seems you highly recommend Castrol Edge 10W40. What are your thoughts on the Castrol Edge 0W40 A3B4? Does it thin quickly (a la Mobil 0W40)?
Just posted this didn't know if you had any insight?
I recently had a 2000 3.2l Boxster S engine put into my 1999 Boxster. The car currently runs, but wanted to take advantage of the extra power by using a 3.4l 996 flash for the ecu instead of the 2.5l is currently loaded. My mechanic and the local Porsche dealer have been unable to do this. The car has all the standard electronics for the 1999 Boxster and a 3.4l mechanical throttle body. I have read that the ecu can be flashed with the 3.4l software used for the 996. Is this possible? If so what steps need to be done?
Hi Jeff, I have a question. Working on a 2001 BMW 525i 135K miles, removed bad battery from the trunk & closed trunk lid. Return with new battery but can't unlock the trunk with key to install battery. Any idea how to open trunk? Thanks Bill
