Hi Guys, Been seeing you on the road. Was wondering who you guys are using and/or would use for doing your clutch and IMS. I am doing this proactively and wanted to know from people in my area who has spent money to learn who is good and who isn't.

Please feel free to chime on who isn't worth spending your money on, like the dealerships…unless they are REASONABLE. Was most likely looking for an Indy shop with a great rep for doing awesome work that would not break the bank (I still have to pay for tires, you know). Was thinking about Autoscope…what is your story guys?

I have heard good reviews from Autoscope and RAC performance. Personally, I have never dealed with them, but I imagine they would be half the price of the Porsche dealership, be it Plano or Dallas. I can't say for myself which is better, as I do all the work and maintenance myself on my car. I plan on replacing the clutch and ims when I hit 100k.

How is Zimms treating you on the clutch? Did you end up going with them? I will be doing same soon, got to close a couple deals first. Does this put the brakes on your other Boxster stuff? $1100 for a Sachs sounds like a good deal. You are going to get the IMS while you're there, aren't you? What will they END UP charging for that total? They look good online. Let us know.

My neighbor, Kirk, is the parts guy for Zimms. He as well as their service guy Wayne have been very helpful in my search for a Boxster. Curious if you guys have used them and what you thought. I figure that they will be doing the service on my 2001 S. I never knew he worked there until he drove up in a 1999 Black Boxster. I had been looking for awhile and then he shows up in one! He normally drives a F150.

It's quite a small world, BruceH! While I was shopping around for a clutch replacement, Zimms quoted me the best price. If I did not change the clutch myself, then I would go with them!

Kenny, I think their prices are pretty reasonable. I got a quote for brakes and the price was very good. I have to have my CV boots replaced this week. I had the front brakes done last week and that's when we found one torn boot. I was actually going to do the brakes myself but I hurt my back a couple of weeks ago so they did it. Very reasonable, $200 for labor, my back was happy!
