Cahrlie - I'm making a few calls now

Trying to line up a restaurant. I've found a place called Marina Grill right in the harbor. They're checking about availability for a party of our size on 6/1. They do have parking. Do we have a rough headcount yet.

If people have lunch ideas lets us know.

Add Randy (owner of the red 996 from the detailing GTG) and his wife Hillary to the list.

I don't know too much about Newport Winery other than they have quite a selection of wines and look to have a nice shop to browse. Should be similar to Wesport.

I don't know how others feel about but I'm 50/50 on touring a mansion. Let's see what others think. Perhaps we should have 2 stops as opposed to 3? Lunch, mansion tour and winery tour is quite a bit. Maybe we should try for more driving with a stop or 2 along the beach and lighthouses?

I'm researching scenic driving roads too.

People - please chime in if you have suggestions!

Great, Rey. I don't even remember the place we went last time for lunch but it was good.

Glad Randy will be joining us. I think it would be fun to invite 996 owners---what happened to Ron Richards, for example? And we could post to the 996 board. How do other people feel about this?

Talking my motto: the more the merrier

I'm not opposed to having other P-cars especially since Rey and I are the ones who invited Randy along. The more the merrier.

Lunch and the winery is probably going to eat into quite a bit of the day.....though the walk sounds interesting too. If it's a hefty lunch maybe the walk would be a better choice [figure 2 hours for lunch for a large group, the winery or whichever stop we choose will take at least 1.5 hours]

Maybe there should be another poll of which thing to do? or people can just chime in as to which things they would like to do.

Awesome, guys! This is coming together nicely. Personally I'd prefer some reasonable component of the Cliff walk to a mansion tour, and the winery tour is not as exciting to me as more time on the right road.

I'm going to start another thread shortly, which I will be editing, with the details including sign-ups.

Lightbulb another thought

Don't know if there's anything to see on Goat Island where we'll be lunching.

But if there's anything to see on the island that's another possibility.

The winery tour is a toss up for me too. Love the wine, and we have a cellar to prove it.

Maybe a short portion of the Cliff walk would be good, but it's probably not for everyone as it's not a short walk, and there seems to be some tough portions. Maybe this could be a short stop to catch the scenery and a few pictures??

Sounds like a fun trip. Too bad I'll be in Europe for work through the 5th. I hope the weather is grand and the traffic light. Dori and I will catch the GBBG'ers on the next drive.
