Broken Top Sensor

Hey guys,
99 986. So the switch up top where the top latches in is broken - if I jiggle it or smack it really hard, the top will move again but most of the time it's dead. Is there a way for me to bypass/disable this sensor completely?

I've been literally wiring 12V to fuse 25/27 under the wheel every time I want to open/close the top.

Try cleaning it first with contact cleaner, or just replace it, it's only about $60 and will take half an hour, part number 98661379502.

Remove 'alien eye' plastic covers, unscrew torx bolts hidden behind them, whole latch assembly comes out. Replace the microswitch assembly using the couple of speed nuts provided, bolt back up in reverse.

Found it. Hairline fracture in the microswitch.

Flux and solder solved it
