Smile Quick 'oettle' exhaust question

Hey folks,

So in the next week I'll be in the market for a Boxster 986 S facelift. I've been very interested in the 'oettle' modification for the exhaust, but I have a question.

To do it, you obviously drill holes in the pipes going into the back box, drill holes into the tips, then weld pipes between the two. But if it's just going into the tips, does it need pipes at all? Would there be any harm, or difference in sound, if there were just neat holes drilled in the pipes that go into the back box?

Thanks, hope to see more of you guys soon (first post by the way).
Geraint.

You know what, scrap that. After test driving one I've realised it's loud enough! Completely didn't expect it! Sounds beautiful as is
