I'm glad to see a good documented effort on the frunk sub, as opposed to an endless thread of opinions.

JayG, your theory has solid grounding, but it sound's like it didn't work out. Kudos on giving it a shot and sharing the results.

As a driving and audio enthusiast I have also spent a lot of the last couple years pursuing the best performing audio setup for my 986s. With a couple powerful amps in the frunk, driving excellent mids/tweeters in the dash, mid woofers in the doors, and a Bose rear shelf subwoofer (driven by a low impedance amplifier as Bose demands, located closely), my opinion is that my system sounds great and hits the lows hard. I love a good large subwoofer, but I think I achieved solid lows without having to plant a box in the footwell.
