I just removed the dash on my '98 Boxster. A couple of things to watch for:
Keep your eye on the little spring in the hazard warning switch
Make sure you re-install the hazard switch with the part no. On the bottom
The clip on the upper part of the housing is a bugger to get to. You may have a piece of plastic blocking access and you will have to cut it off.
Make a note of your needle placements in case you bump them with a finger. Just saying.
