My solution was to cut a cup holder from a chunk of open cell foam. Works well and doesn't look out of place.

This is how I make it - https://rx19jones.wixsite.com/projectboxster/projectboxster4

I did something similar, what are you doing to keep the lid open while driving?

I use a small black mini bungee to hold the lid open. The bungee can be attached to the lower track for the storage bin's sliding door but that bit of plastic seems a little fragile, so I attach it to a to a little eye bolt that I installed at the back of the bin. This works well for me. It's easy to use, holds the lid open securely, and can be quickly unhooked and shoved into the storage bin when not in use.

cheers - dj

I thought I would share my cupholder mod. I put in a double DIN receiver and lost my retractable cupholders. Instead, I installed a pair of magnetically mounted, carbon fiber cupholders right in front of the seat adjust levers. I can pull them off if I need to slide the seat forward but they don't get in the way while driving. They are easy targets to hit without looking.
