Throwing my name in the hat for a short shifter. The " beast " revs so fast I could use some help in the shifting arena . PM'd my info to you.

Just a thought on the gated shifter in regards to the shifter shaft being rectangular vs. round. Could a round piece of SS tubing snugly fit over the rectangular shaft ? I would think some thin wall tubing would not be too large in OD, it could be polished and would eliminate the concern of the looks of the exposed rectangular shaft. The tube could be end user cut to length so depending on what shift knob they choose to use the length could be adjusted. Depending on how snug the fit is there may be no need for any adhesive or if adhesive is needed it could be silicone or RTV so not permanent and reversible if desired.

The problem with the gate plate is that even the base of the shifter's handle is too thick to have something that looks good.
I'm still working on it... kind of, since I have no money for the prototypes it's hard.

Ok, so I went to the machine shop today... it was close...
I'll go tomorrow morning, it doesn't matter, I still don't have the bearings anyway.

I'll keep you in touch!

Ben.

The guys at the machine shop are really fast!
Parts were ready today at noon!

I will start to put everything back together, so when I receive the bearings I can send everything almost right away (still need to do 15 packages!).

I will send everyone on the main list a pm and an E-mail about payment, and when everyone on the main list is OK, I will contact the ones on the waiting list so they can have the "leftover"

Thank you guys,
Ben.

I didn't want to say anything but I think I was the first. I'm excited to get this project started as soon as t arrives. This will be the perfect project to take my mind of not driver her for a while still here in MN. Though this Saturday it's supposed to be 55 and sunny. That sounds like top down weather!

Wow that must be a busy household!

This will probably be my last project on mine for while as we are expecting our first kid in June!

Ben,

Why not do a kick starter kind of thing for the next project. There are some of us that would support your efforts in R&D knowing it might be a bust but could be cool.

For those of you that have kids HAHa! My better 7/8ths raised 5 girls and still had time for our hobbies. All my girls can do car things and 1 Is a superior welder and complete car nut. She's building a hot rod 911 that might get on the road this summer.

You mention that you are ASE certified. I'm a NIASE certified master. That is going back a ways I tell ya!

IMO, that's basically what this thread is, a micro Kickstarter.

Also, where can I watch your latest project, the white wedge?

Yep, a fund raising for: Intake plenum and 911 throttle body, basically

Right now I try to focus on getting a job as a technician, I have to wait until June for my AAS degree

After that, once I have a stable situation, I should be able to try new things without worrying much about money and do them in a more "official" manner!

I really appreciate your interest and comments, I hope to keep the development going, I just LOVE it !

Ben.
