How does this looks like ?

It's just a prototype, but I can tell you that it will fit really nice, especially with the short shifter underneath !

mavis.d 09-09-2015 02:40 AM

I like the look of that

Ben006 09-09-2015 04:22 PM

I do too ! It should look really good in polished stainless steel !

It looks great. That must be for the 5-speed gearbox. Doesn't the S have a 6th gear?

Ben006 09-10-2015 03:51 AM

For now, I use my car as a model, so I did a 5speed pattern first, but if someone with a 6 speed and want me to look a it :)

particlewave 09-10-2015 05:42 AM

The part looks nice, but not a fan of the bare stick look.

Ben006 09-10-2015 05:48 AM

I just removed the knob so you can see better, you should be able to use any shift knob after ;)

particlewave 09-10-2015 07:34 AM

I meant the bare shaft. I prefer a boot...just my personal preference. ;)

Ben006 09-10-2015 10:33 AM

Oh ok, sorry I didn't get it ^^

particlewave 09-10-2015 12:19 PM

How are you going to attach it? Looks great :)

Ben006 09-10-2015 01:13 PM

I haven't decided yet, I need to work on it ;)

01BOXYS 09-19-2015 07:11 PM

This looks really nice. Would you be able to prototype one for a 6 speed? I would be very interested if this works well.

Ben - I'm new to 986forum (but have had my boxster for about 4.5 years) - are you still doing another run of the short shifters? or am I too late?

Ben006 09-21-2015 09:31 AM

Hi !
For now I'm doing one for the 5 speed, it's easier and easier for me since I have a 5 speed.
Once I'm done I'll try for the 6 speed :)

Redbox, I would like to, but I even I count you on, I have too few people to start a new round :/
I'm too short on money to bet and start a round of ten shifter without having most of them pre-sold :/
I'm sorry.

Ben.

Ben.

When ready let me know. I would be willing to be a guinea pig if needed ;)

Ben,
Glad I bought your. Saved big $
Look at this one FUNCTION-FIRST > Shift-Right Solution

Ben006 01-29-2016 03:13 PM

Yep, more than twice the price !
Their "yoke" looks really good! But I found that most of the play was not comming from that part.

I have mine for more than a year now, still strong !

Just check the tightness from time to time ;)

Thanks for your feedback!

Ben.
