Ok guys!

I solved the problem, we can officially start!

I'll e-mail those of you who have already sent me a PM, to confirm that you're still in. The others... you have two weeks until I order the different parts and close the GB! ;)

Thanks guys!

Ben

Ben,

I am in. What info do you need from me? What is the current cost?

I saw some pricing from posts over a year ago but I didn't read the whole thread to find the current.

rdonahe 03-26-2017 08:59 AM

After re-reading this thread I'm sold on your shifter Ben006 and am in for the current order. I'll send a PM.

Ben006 03-26-2017 09:42 AM

Answering you right now ;)

For the other, you have until next sunday to sign-up!

Hopefully two weeks!
Often it depends on how busy the machine shop is!

Hi Ben, I am interested in your shifter. Let me know if you have any available, the current price and how you prefer payment. Shipping to Rochester, NY 14610

I'll pm you when I get back home tonight ;)

Ben006 04-29-2017 06:52 AM

Hi guys!

For the first time... I have a small stock!

They are immediately available ;)

And this might be one of the last batch, I'm moving soon and don't know if I'll be able to continue... I'll still keep some spare parts though!

Ben.

Wanted to say - got one of Ben's shifters in the mail yesterday and installed today. Took about two hours including goofing off with my kid's go kart, cleaning, etc. The Hurst in my 66 Corvette has always been the paradigm of perfect shifting - this is a dang close second. Took the sloppy, wiggly 16 year old feeling and tightened it up, shorter, smoother and what I would expect from a Porsche.

None of the "for the price" caveats. IMHO - buy one - like now. Especially if Ben is considering not making them anymore. Can't wait to drive it more but it has certainly made my car an entirely new experience.

Tank you for the feedback :)

There are still a few available, but they are going quickly!

Ben

Its been about two years since I bought one. If you are going to stop making them, I'll take another if I still can. PMed

Got it installed, I love it. I am replacing a 9x7 shifter, which has a 15% shorter throw than 9x6 stock shifter. So Ben's short shifter is 30% shorter than 9x6 stock.

The 9x7 shifter is very nice, and in my opinion ben's shifter is the next level. It does have a rifle bolt like feel that the 9x7 shifter doesn't have.

Some folks have indicated that there might be an adjustment period when adapting to a short shifter, but I didn't feel any, after just one day I am totally adjusted and I love it!

I had some adjustment period going from the stock 986 shifter to Ben's, but now could never go back! Steve, what does your "CAM" switch do?

NewArt 05-14-2017 11:11 AM

Steve's a movie maker, didn't you know? Check out his clips on YouTube!
Oh, and the FANS switch generates a cheering noise as you drive by! ;)
