Thanks - My cable arrived today. It looks great. Better than I would have made it up and cheaper to boot. Thanks for putting these together.

I got mine installed today. I didn't remove the steering wheel. I disconnected the stalk from the 4 stalk that I bought and installed it onto my current 3 stalk. I had the OBC activated and everything works great! Thanks Dwight for making these harnesses, excellent quality and makes this mod so much easier.

That pinout should be correct, you would simply need a 4 stalk harness, (Most humbly) my harness takes out over half the work of doing this.

I just installed mine today too, along with the 4 stalk assembly. I realized after it was installed, that I could have just transferred the OBC stalk. I'll keep the old assembly around just in case.

Dwight's cable made this modification a lot easier. Definitely worth the money.

great job Dwight...

I received my harness today and installed it in about an hour (nice day and wasn't rushing). everything went in smooth as silk. the version I used was the poor man's version, with an old window switch in the dash to scroll through the functions. in my opinion it is the only way to go. doing so alleviates the need to disassemble the column and remove the steering wheel.

I had so much time left over, I decided to upgrade my speakers. the old ones were shot. the suspension had completely deteriorated to the point where the cones were not supported by the frames at all. now all I need is a wiring harness adapter to install a new amp.

I don't guess you make those Dwight, do you?

I made a adaptor plate for replacement dash speakers. PM me and I will send you the template pattern

Would any stalk work from a parts car? I think I may jump the gun on this one!

You need the fourth stalk from any 986 and maybe a 996? I got a complete four stalk from a parts car and just removed the proper stalk and installed it on mine. Easy to do

I was bored @ 10:30 pm tonight. The OBC Stalk got installed. Works like a charm. I did the install without removing the steering wheel. Since there already was cruise control it meant that the stalk for the OBC could be added to the three stalk assembly that was already in place. The top trim pice for the column had to be removed. It was easy to do by rotating the steering wheel to accessmthe screws holding it in place behind the wheel, along with extending the adjustment of the column to its longest position for access to the trim screws on the side. If any one else is confused as to what plug the new wires go into it is the center plug. Less than two hours later it was buttoned up and out for test drive.

Does this harness activate the cruise control if I install the 4-stalk on my '03?

I have a 2001 S with cruise. What would I need to do this conversion?

Just the cable?

Thank you,

Patrick.

not sure about the 01 model, but on the 00 model, the harness and a window switch was all that I needed. pelican has a write up on it's website. also you will need to have the computer turned on, it can be done at the dealer or with durametric software if you have it.

I bought a 4 stalk from Oklahoma Foreign which sells on eBay. I also have a 2001 S with cruise so I removed the OBC stalk from the one I bought and put it on my original 3 stalk. Then I ran the wires from Dwight's harness up to the cluster. I had my local shop activate the OBC for $50. Everything works as advertised. Keep an eye on Oklahoma foreign since the stalks come up on a fairly regular basis or you could contact them directly. I bought mine for $129.
