So I got my 940 bt and the euro speed kit. One question I have is the wiring diagram says that the blue wire on harness B should connect to the blue/white wire in the avic power harness. Though the harness is for the antenna and the Avic blue/white wire is for the system amp turn on. Should I just connect the harness to the antenna socket?

Any help would be appreciated.

The Boxster audio wiring is different depending on which stock audio system it came with.

For instance the Bose system in mine did not have a switched 12V lead in the harness.

Antenna power and amp turn on are both +12V so they are interchangeable.

I have a 2002 cdr220, it's the easiest setup to upgrade. Pretty much my avic harnesses are missing a blue connector. I only have one for system remote control, where as the instructions suggest that there should be two, unless both system remote and antenna connect together to the blue boxster harness.

So I hooked up the HU and it works great with exception to my door speakers. I can't get either to work. I think it has to do with the red harness as the front will work fine and will work in either the front or rear avic harness outputs but not the rears. I'm going to try the old radio again and see if the door speakers work if they do I know it's the harness.

Otherwise the radio kicks ass and the eurospeed installation and bezel look great. I can't wait to mess around with it some more.

I got it to work, I didn't realize the door speakers were sub woofers. They were working the entire time. I wonder why they aren't connected to the sub woofer channel? A question I have is if I buy the rear speakers that go on the sides of the pizza oven, where do I connect them?

Sorry to revive an old thread, but thought this was worthy of posting:

I have the same camera, but haven't installed it yet. How did you route it?

Here's some pics of my JVC installation and FULL TIME backup camera - I ran the input to an extra AV IN input on Head Unit.

The instructions call for backup camera to be connected to the reverse signal wire. I chose to have it on full time….then, that way you can see pickups try to pile drive into turns to follow you! Good times! Wait I OWN a pickup (however, I DO KNOW the difference in handling between a Box and a truck - some people apparently don't). I have almost witnessed 2 accidents - from IN FRONT!

Here is a shot through the rear window after console was painted and rear deck speakers were installed:

Here is a shot inside from the backup camera:

he wiring is not so easy but do-able.

Just take your time and do it right!

Here is the shot of the rear camera installed.

BTW, the bumperettes have been repainted to factory colors….the silver was a failed experiment.

Sorry, I had to blank out license #….I don't have a "cool" customized plate - like some folks!

Here's lookin' at ya!

Now you know what I mean when I say, "See Ya!" It isn't just decoration!

Did any of you guys get your LEDs from your camera to work?

You know that those are Infrared emitters for better night vision for the camera.

No human visible light but to the camera at night it will light up the ground and objects up to perhaps 6'

The problem is I have LED license plate illuminators. They create a giant glare at night. I don't know how else to get rid of it :( aside from removing my LED illuminators of course

It works fine during the day

You can reduce the strength of the lights by installing a resistor in line.

can anyone tell me the color code for the reverse light? I have my camera installed and its working, but im not sure what wire to connect the came to come on when in reverse.... Thanks in advance all

Nimbus117 03-23-2013 12:57 PM

Do you want to know the colours of the wiring to the lights themselves or do you want a signal wire for the head unit?

If its a signal wire it's the black/blue one under the drivers seat and will switch the head unit to reverse view when you select reverse.

Just connect it to a full time AV In on the HU. You get to see all sorts of shenanigans while you're driving. You can also connect the line from the camera to the HU's reverse connector AND you can have it "take over the screen" when you put it in reverse.

And remember to keep your eyes ahead AND don't feel bad when you watch someone try to follow you into a turn and not make it. Although it would make great YouTube footage!

Good Luck!

SoloBox1 03-28-2013 06:17 AM

Thanks, that is what I needed ...

I really like the silver on the dash cover. is that factory or did you paint it? if painted how did you prep it? Do you know anyone that does it professionaly?

jb92563 05-10-2013 10:14 PM

so i finally hook up my lic plate reverse camera but its very blurry. is there a way to adjust the focus?

Running the wires was easier than I thought as there are plenty of panel covers to hide the cable behind.

I only had to drill a 3/16" hole in the trunk into the spoiler area.

BruceH 05-11-2013 07:22 AM

No idea about focusing, but you might want to make sure that there isn't some sort of protective plastic over the lens.
