I recently purchased a 2000 Boxster. Despite the car being well cared for, some interior trim pieces were peeling and had seen better days. I replaced some of the trim with painted pieces. Upon removing the old center counsel I noticed that the sides had been severely scuffed from the seatbelts. A very easy and free solution was to take old black socks and fold them in two, and then cut the toes off. These slide over the seatbelt, fit snugly, and should do a good job of protecting the new painted counsel.
