I Have the same Infinity speakers and they fit fine.
I did mount them differently, using an adapter plate I made and IIRC, it's 3/16 thick

Just bought some Hertz speakers for the dash. I'm wondering if with the increased sensitivity that the door speakers may be too quiet in comparison. What have those of you with hi sens units found?

@Disaster, I'm deciding between Alpine and Infinity Reference. Are IR still superior to Alpines considering I don't have door & rear speakers?

6 of one, 1/2 dozen of another

They are both far superior to the factory speakers

IIRC, the Infinity may be a a few db more efficient

Fwiw - I chose Helix speakers for the dash because they sounded better than any of the coax competitors. Fit perfectly.

Just replaced factory speakers with Infinity Reference ones. What a difference! IR are bulkier than Alpines, but it wasn't a problem connecting & installing them at all.

How much work is it to install subwoofer, door & rear speakers (right now I don't have any of them)? Can it be done without buying an amp?

Congratulations! Following this thread, as I will be doing HU, speakers, amp and subwoofer upgrade.

Reviving an old thread , recently noticed a crackling noise from the passenger side dash speaker . Read this post and others to make sure I understood how to mount the aftermarket speakers . I ended up buying Cerwin Vega H740's . Online reviews were good and price delivered to my door was very reasonable . Installation went exactly as described by others in this posting . I ended up using clear silicone to mount the speakers to the OEM holders . Let them dry overnight then I bent the 4 ears over the OEM mounts .

Wiring was a snap and the speakers sound very good . I'm not an audio expert so my ear is far from being trained :D But to my ears these sound good . To be honest I much rather listen to the engine revving than the radio but in traffic the radio is a nice companion . These are the speakers I purchased .
