IMS Failure?

Hi - do you happen to know what caused the engine failure - was it caused by an IMSB failure?

It went to Porsche in the middle of January for a ticking sound and they thought it was the flywheel. They pulled the trans and that was not it so they drained the oil and found glittery oil. Porsche told the owner that it needs a new motor. Porsches fix to everything is replace and not to repair what’s damaged
