2000 Boxster S in Hillsboro, OR

SOLD on 6/1/21

This Ocean Blue Metallic / Savanna Beige 2000 Boxster S is a blast to drive! I bought it a few years ago from a couple in southern California, and it's been my daily driver since then. It now has about 129,800 miles. I unfortunately need to sell it because I've developed a medical issue that prevents me from being able to drive a manual transmission comfortably. It's in good shape overall, but is showing its age in a few ways that I'll note below.

Asking $8500 (SOLD)
(more pictures below)

Notable Features:
  • 6-speed manual transmission
  • Electronic limited-slip differential (uses brake activation to perform limited slip function)
  • Power windows, door locks, seats
  • Heated seats
  • Air Conditioning
  • 6-disc CD changer audio system
  • Built-in nav

Highlights:
  • Runs and drives perfectly
  • The convertible top works perfectly and the A/C blows cold
  • The car is stock (to my knowledge) except I removed the secondary catalytic converters and installed bypass pipes for a nicer exhaust tone. I have the old cats if you want them.

Lowlights:
  • The airbag light is on and the cruise control stopped working a few months ago. I'm not aware of any cause and have not troubleshot these items other than checking a fuse.
  • The LCD display next to the digital MPH indicator has some pixels that have stopped working correctly, so small squiggly lines appear (see picture).
  • The leather on the seats is worn out in a few places (see pictures).
  • The center console "lid" hinges are broken, but it stays in place while driving fine.
  • The check-engine light comes on occasionally. Last time I checked, this was due to an EVAP emissions system issue. I haven't troubleshot it recently since it isn't affecting performance, safety, or reliability.
  • The clear-coat on the rear bumper cover is peeling.

Recent maintenance in the last few years includes:
  • New Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires (rears will need replacement soon though)
  • New passenger-side convertible top gearbox
  • New OEM front brake pads
  • Multiple Mobile-1 oil changes
  • New motor mount

I'm not aware of the IMS bearing ever having been replaced. If you're interested in buying this Boxster S, please reach out.

P.S. if you want to geek out, here are the options codes:

139 Heated seat, left
222 Traction control
224 Active/automatic brake differential (not disabled by traction control switch)
