1999 Boxster w/168k 2.5L, 5spd. I purchased the car from fellow forum member, Meir (who was a fantastic seller BTW!). Meir had taken care of all the heavy lifting in terms of addressing all the typical 986 issues to bring the car up to snuff mechanically (coolant tank, recent clutch, pressure plate, window regulators, convertible top cables). In my ownership: alternator rebuild w/new voltage reg, 3 new pulley/tensioners, ignition switch, axle boot, front seats refurbished, 997 shifter assembly, oil dipstick tube, fluids etc. Car drives really well and has no issues mechanically. However, the sun has taken a toll on the paintwork and there is clearcoat peeling on the hood and on the top of the fenders. Small dings and dents throughout so it's not going to be winning any contests. If you can live with the cosmetic issues it's a great driving car. We're about 15 mins from RDU airport 27519. Price is $5,000 which I hope folks will find reasonable given the good running condition of the car.
