WTS 2001 Boxster 55k - Greater Boston area

I am the second owner of this 2001 Boxster in arctic silver. Car runs great and only has 55k miles. Got this last year at a dealer and has never seen salt since I owned it right now in storage. Car has a few scratches on the front bumper that are very small but interior is super clean. Have all the books. One Key missing the little remote buttons on the inside so you have to manually open the door. Convertible top works perfectly as does all other functions.

At 54210 miles I had the following done at auto engineering in Lexington.

IMS bearing replaced with LN Engineering retrofit Dual Row bearing, I have the old bearing as well and all paper work for proof.

Crankshaft seal-rear replaced
Oil change
sway bar bushings
gear oil changed
new clutch kit (have old clutch in a box if you want to see)

Love the car but living in MA want something I can drive year round and possibly in automatic this is a manual and aiming towards a Cayman.

PM for any questions. Inside is all black nice leather seats no rips at all. Car has clearly been babied by previous owner I only use it to go to and from work which is about 15 miles. Pics below show battery tender cable if you are wondering and baking soda box to keep it fresh while not driving! I can email higher res pictures.

Asking $16,000 or best offer. Not in a rush to sell.

Very nice well kept Boxster. I think you may have it priced several thousand above what the car is worth. A base Boxster with 55k miles and IMS upgrade is probably worth about 9-10k in this market. Just my humble opinion. Good luck with the sale.

Sounds like you just replaced the IMS, right before selling....always makes me a bit suspicious why you would do that. I would recommend putting on some miles to prove you didn't replace due to metal particles which may already have damaged the engine. I'd like to see a few thousand miles to prove engine is still good since replacement.

Do you have any information/service records from the previous owner? Did you have a pre-purchase inspection done before you bought it?

Hi,

I have the service history in the service book that the car came with, I did not do a PPI.

So you've had the car for sale for almost 8 months and you raised the price $1.500 since last month? Why? Autumn drives?

Best of luck with sale....looks like a nice car.
