97 Silver/black manual in central PA - $11,500 (lotta pics)

I've decided to sell my 1997 Box w/ 102k on it, located near State College, Pa. It's a great car. I haven't had any problems in my ownership with it. It has black leather, heated seats, climate control, etc. All original books and both keys will go with it.

Check out the plethora of pictures showing all the good and the bad @ http://www.whoistouching.us/porsche/

The good:
The car has always ran well, and I've maintained it properly for its age.
The body is in rather good shape for its age, some chips and dings associated with a car that's 10 years old, but no dents, paint is shiney and has been washed and waxed regularly by me.

Maintence done so far: all new brake pads, rotors, stainless steel lines and fluid @ 95k. Regular oil changes between 10k and 12k, serpentine belt change recently, 4 new Bosch O2 sensors isntalled @ 98k. It got a clean bill of health in November from European Imports in Lock Haven, PA, a porsche and euro specialist.

The stereo has been upgraded with a Pioneer DEH-5800MP CD/MP3 player, kicker amplifier to power the rear kicker 6 1/2" speakers and tweets +3 1/2" speakers added into the rear pouch. The door and dash speakers have been replaced with 6 1/2" Pioneers and 4" Pioneers respectively. It actually sounds pretty good

The car comes with a Bentley Repair Manual as well as a Durametric Diagnostic tool.

The top opens and closes of its own volition, and is in overall good shape. New rear vinyl window as of 10/08/07

There's a new front windshield installed last month (september), compliments of a rock.

The Bad:
The front bumper was repainted at some point before I owned the car. This means that it's chipping and flaking, as shown in the pictures.
The tires are getting fairly worn, due to the front negative camber. I'm including a spare set of rear tires with around 50% left on them, if you want 'em.

The Other:
I have a set of Blizzak snow tires with basically no wear on them mounted on a spare set of stock 17" rims. I will sell these for $900 separately, or we can work something out if you want them with the car, say $12,000 for everything.

Please email, PM or call me for more pictures, more details, etc.

Thanks for looking!

I dropped the price down a bit to stay under the average prices in my market area.

Cheers!

Apparently there's not a big market for boxsters in Central PA...

would $13,900 be interesting to anyone?

No thank you, I've already bought an Rx-8, which is why I'm trying to get rid of this one. Thanks, though!

Because I've wanted one since they came out, I love the looks of 'em, and I think they handle better than the box, and definitely have a sweet sound.

Of course, I'm a rotary guy at heart... my race/project car is an Rx7... I just wish the 8 was turbo'd like the 7

Just a note: If you're trying to convince me that you have a money order, don't bother to even explain why it's over the amount that I'm asking for the car... . Yes, I know that it's a scam, no, I won't fall for it.

Also: Don't just send me an email/text asking "is the car in perfect shape, what's your bottom line?" with an anonymous email address. If you can't read the description, i don't want my car to suffer at your hands.

Thanks.

Hi Wonko, I'm not interested to buy your car, I'm curious to know what the scam is about if you don't mind explaining , sorry for the dumb question and good luck selling your Box.

Those are two common entries to the same scam. The general deal is "I got this money order already made out for X amount. I know you're only asking (less than)X, so if you don't mind, would you please cash the money order and send the remainder+the car with my carrier?"

Of course, the money order is a scam, but due to the nature of banking, it will take up to three weeks for the bank to catch it as a fraud, and by that time they've taken your car and whatever money you gave them.

If you ever sell a car and the person offering to buy it tries to pay with a money order made out for MORE than your asking price for the car, it's a scam, don't even waste your time responding.

Both times I got a txt message with "Is the car in perfect shape, what's your bottom line?" it's been an alternative intro to explaining why they have a money order for more than the amount

Someone has offered me $11,250, but couldn't come up with financing... If someone with cash can match it, it's yours for that.

Cheers!
