The 997 rear track arm is the same as the 996 all four corners track arm and the 986 Boxster front track arm, you can get it as a TRW or Meyle part for way cheaper than the Porsche branded part and much better than the various off brand parts that show up from time to time, part # 99733104301, on the Meyle website they make this and show it as a cross for 99634104306 and a couple of other part numbers (earlier revisions maybe?)

I am running these on my car now in the front, ordered Meyle brand from FCP Euro and they sent TRW by mistake which was OK with me so I kept them and installed them. They are an exact match.

dammit, wish I would have seen this sooner. Got a very low mile used set on ebay for cheap, but would have preferred new. Oh well.

This place Topspeed Pro1 sells steel versions of this with what look like heim joints, but i didn't really trust it.

What is going on with TRW? Are they getting out of aftermarket or is Porsche cracking down? I cannot find TRW anywhere. Sites that show them don't stock them and when called find they are NLA. Lower control arms have ben unavailable forever and now uppers also gone????

There was some sort of dispute with Porsche so for the past 4 years or so it has been increasingly hard to find the aftermarket TRW version with the Porsche logo ground off.

Did a little research. ZF Friedrichshafen purchased TRW in May 2015. Apparently selling cheap aftermarket in direct competition with their own expensive Porsche parts does not fit ZF's marketing strategy in their quest for world domination. Bummer.

Maybe Meyle will step up and start making the rear track arm, they already make the front ones, coffin arms, rear toe arms, front tie rod ends, and drop links now. (Also brake rotors, some brake pads, and even an HD water pump now...)

Looking good and you have probably said it on other threads, what front bumper lip is that?

its actually a universal front lip from All-fit automotive. Its kinda cheesy in person but i'm trying it out.

so to sum up, I was only able to get to -2 degrees even with a lot of slotting in the shock tower.

so..well, thats unfortunate, but so be it. At some point I'll upgrade to some gt3 style LCAs, but I'm gonna run it and see how it feels and how my tires wear.

Are the top mount pins up against the edges of your expanded slots or is the nose of the top mount contacting the body structure? If the nose of the top mount is contacting, you could probably cut or grind off some of that nose and give yourself some more room and squeeze a little more neg camber, maybe another 5mm worth?

You can also throw top camber plates on that add 1 degree. That will get you 3.

That's going to be my next project. I might wait until I have to replace the front struts, but that may take a while I had the same issue, the strut mount body hits the inside of the sheet metal strut housing. I took a look in there and there is not much metal to grind away and it could weaken the mount.

You are right, I thought there was more to grind, my bad. That picture shows it pretty clearly.

I’m running the Megan racing 987 rear toe links on my 986. They work, no idea why they don’t advertise them working on 986’s.

Yup, I got them on as well. Heavy as hell, but they fit and work fine.

Yeah, I wouldn't mess with the top mount. I'm having Ohlins R+T coilovers installed in my Cayman. I debated about putting camber mounts in - but since it's a street car I went with the stock mounts.
