Running 2.5 core value

Hello all

I am going to be doing a 3.2 swap into my base 98. My current 2.5 runs but has a bad rod knock just curious what the rough value of the 2.5 core would be. My mechanic wants to buy it off me just want to make sure I get a fair value

Thanks

Sell it to him before he changes his mind. I believe the early 2.5 motors can't be rebuilt because they don't make the bearings for the crank anymore. Even if it's a later motor, the pool of people interested in a core with a knock is very very small. It's worth more in parts but even in parts it might not be worth your time.
