Laguna Seca Video - Smoke! (04/11/16)

Me and a buddy went to LS yesterday with the CFRA group (CFRA.net). Had a great time! On our 3rd session, I was following him with my "TrackAddict" app running and caught this on turn 2. Pretty impressive, we assume just an AOS not keeping up as the rest of the lap / day was mostly uneventful.

His is a 2004 S, my info is in the tag line.

Was that a Pruis you got stuck behind there for a while?

I couldn't tell if the smoke bomb was from the Boxster or the Cayman. [Edit - never mind, you said it was the Boxster]

I saw a yellow base boxster blow a smoke bomb like at Sebring in turn 1. And I blew one myself at Roebling Road. It is scary. Power drops out and you can get misfires and a flashing CEL...

I'm a CFRA member - but missed Monday as I was there on last Thursday with the Audi Club. Laguna sucks for us loud guys - and we had a 92 dB day. Still need to run supertrapps and short shift between T5 and T6 to pass sound - as I've been flagged before at 94dBs even with the trapps. Then there was the problem with the right front brake locking up under real hard braking causing me to slow and brake early....

Here's my vid of my best lap of the day.

Considered doing HOD that Friday - but with the rain in the forecast - decided against it as my car is a handful in the rain.

Here is a lap in my stock 2.9 Cayman from last November with PCA Diablo. Enjoy the self coaching as I am still learning this Track.

Running RE-11 tires on this day.
