Can the BSR/BSX suspension set up be easily dialed back to provide a reasonable ride quality for the street similar to the M030?

We would be talking about PSS9/PSS10 struts; tarret/gt3 roll bars and suppose gt3 front control arms.

Sure. PSS9s on the softest setting feel like stock struts.

Sure?

With PSS9 you can only adjust the rebound, but the springs are still stiff as hell

I have a Spec Boxster suspension in my daily driver, and I'd say the ride is much harder than stock, but - well - I commute with that daily, so it's not that bad

I never bother to adjust the sway bars to soft, it's such a pain to do that so I always leave them in "track setting"

Yeah the dampers can clicked or adjusted to full soft remotely in the cockpit but I am concerned with the springs for street use. Does a slightly higher ride height give you better ride quality...how low are you?

Sounds like the springs mask any stiff roll bar issues. Does a roll bar setting change from track to street screw up anything else

My car is dual purpose and pretty low... Min ride height for BSX class. Struts are set on 5 and I only change sway settings to adjust car balance for different tracks. I don't make adjustments for street/track ride comfort at all. It is more of a firm ride than stock but my car is full of compromises. Not really looking for a soft cushy ride.

Hmmm... I guess I need to find spring rates for different options: stock S; M030; pss9

Does anybody have this at hand? This might give an idea of what I am getting into. You guys in CA have awesome roads with no freeze thaw damage

Actually some of the worst roads in the country.

I don't know which springs are on Chris Zang's car as I think he bought those struts used. Mine were new with factory springs and are firm but quite bearable on the street. If Chris got struts from a former BSR race car they are probably a lot stiffer springs. Every suspension setup is a compromise between comfort and performance.

If it was my car and I used it mostly on the street with occasional track days I would go USM030. Porsche sport tuned suspension with stock ride height.

For better front grip and a more track oriented car- ROW M030

For competition- PSS9s lowered, corner balanced, and adjustable sways.

Thanks I was leaning towards the ROW M030 with front GT3 control arms but I have trackies and racers telling to go with a Blistein Kit.

The car is primarily driven on the street and track weekends once a month average. I am on the stock S suspension now; it is getting scary. The front end really rolls and is imprecise; front tires are getting baked.

Also I wanted to ensure I get a set up that could take a more powerful engine

I am not sure you need he very expensive GT3 control arms
Look in the classifieds there are camber plates for sale, they do essentially the same

I can verify that Topless' car rides just as smooth as my stock suspension yet handles on the track like a race car. Would be very easy to live with this suspension on a daily driver. Very amazing and now I understand why its so expensive.

Okay... Thanks. It may be that the stock pss9 spring rates are lower than what most spec racers have in them

If there is little difference from the stock S spring rate or feel then this maybe the way to go

I have PSS-9's on my vehicle, albeit a custom set with much stiffer spring rates than usual . Still, when I dial them back for street performance, they're just as smooth and comfortable as the oem suspension . Or, maybe a better way of putting it, is that they are no more stiffer than the oem suspension .
