Brad, that was exactly what you said to me when you were giving me driving feedback at Fontana a few weeks ago. Great advice.

And 986 C6 has it right, its a great feeling to have someone come over at the track and ask if you're running a 3.2 or spec box suspension and you get to tell them that you're running a base 2.5 completely stock and they walk away trying to figure out how your lap time could possibly be faster than their time in a car with 300+hp.

When I raced motorcycles, there was a similar phenomena. There was always a seasoned racer on a 125cc two stroke that was flying around the track. The new guys on the ultra high power ducatis, Aprilias, Hyabusas etc were scratching their heads over how a tiny, smelly bike that sounded like a chain saw could be faster than their bike. And the answer is simple, its the driver, not the bike, that makes fast lap times.

Think the UK Top Gear episode with the German "the Ring" taxi driver Sabeena, in her cargo van...smoking everything in her site, and nearly turning a 10 min lap at the Nurburgring. I watch it over and over again!
