key reprogramme

Hi could anyone tell me how to reprogramme my boxster key?, the transponder works fine just the remote locking is no longer working. Any help would be much appreciated.

when you say transponder works -- you mean the rfid pill that talks
to the immobilizer and you can start the car.

if that is the case I don't think you need to have it reprogrammed.

you might just need a new battery.

yes car starts fine its the remote locking thats not working have fitted a new battery and the light on the key iluminates but has no effect on the car ?

I also have a remote that no longer works and like you I thought it should be a simple fix because I could see the red LED flashing on the remote when I pressed a button. Then I read another thread where the author pointed out that a functional remote blinks very rapidly when pressed while some non-functional remotes blink at a steady slow rate. When I checked my fobs I could see the non-functional one blinked slowly. There are no dealers near me so I haven't tried getting it fixed.

If you find a solution please post it.
