Satellite radio?
do you have XM or Sirius? Either the Boxster or the other car?
If you said yes, do you also use your Ipod or MP3 device in the car?

Sirius, daily driver (non-Boxster)
Not planning on using my iPod much in my daily driver with the satellite radio because this is how I keep up to date on new music that I like.

I had XM (and an mp3 capable cd player) in my old car and my 4x4. Didn't get it in my new beater car as I commute by motorcycle now.
My dad took the add-in XM widget out of my 4x4 and put it in his truck. He loves it and can't imagine getting rid of it.
I won't bother putting it in the boxster... would rather listen to the engine.

I have XM in my Acura RDX (I should say wifes RDX). We do have a plug in for the Ipod which we have not used yet.
Before having satellite radio I thought it was stupid, after having it I hate listening to regular radio.
On a side note, I recently had a rental car with Sirius and could not stand the way it was organized, I definitely prefer XM. Also, I believe the two companies are looking at merging if it is approved.....

XM since 9/03.
SkyFi receiver, 3 car adapters (2 FM modulator, 1 AUX-in), home adapter and boom box.
Once you go XM you won't go back to FM.
Car cradle in the Boxster is not the best looking install.

I agree its hard to go back to FM once you've gotten use to the variety of Satellite.
Just wanted reiterate the question of Ipod use if you also have Sirius or XM.
I was reading some smarty guy who thinks Satellite is doomed because Ipods are so common now. An opinion I found to be strange because I have both and I don't see one as a subsitute of the other. I certainly can't spend 8 hours listening to an Ipod at work like I can listen to my Sirius. Neither can I listen to my SIrius at the gym unless I get one of TV remote control size Satellite receivers which are pricey. And in the car I prefer the Satellite as I can listen to new stuff all day and then go and download it onto the PC/Ipod. The point being that the Sirius receiver takes the lead over the MP3 device. With my particular MP3 player I can stream record right from my satellite receiver onto the MP3, another reason I think satellite seems like a better value at $12 then buying a dozen songs.
If that new Iphone came with a Sirius subscription then I think they would have all the bases covered..pnone, mp3, satellite radio, internet.

I guess I'm behind the times since I have no ipod or MP3 device. Maybe I don't know what I'm missing but XM gives me all the music/listening choices I need. I may not be able to listen to a certain song whenever I want to on XM but an ipod isn't going to give me the weather and traffic info or CNN/Fox/etc whenever I want like XM can.
Not having 5,000 songs downloaded doesn't bother me at all.
XM works for me and that's all I care about.

XM in wife's '99 Grand Cherokee. But Roady 2 easy enuf to move for that big coast-to-coast we want to do in the Box some day.
We have done several cross country trips in the Jeep and having the Weather Channel and Fox News Channel was worth the fees for the year. And every now and then we took a Comedy Channel hit.
Mountain use is a problem when you lose the sat due to terrain masking.
No iPod, no MP3 player. Both cars have multi-disc CD players that we load up with our favorite road music.

XM Radio (Audiovox) & iPod in my Boxster = daily driver
for me both is a must:
* XM to get BBC worldwide news & Air America
* iPod when I want to listen to "my music" and to audiobooks
self-made adapter to connect iPod & XM Radio to AUX port of CDR-220
works great, BUT still fighting the "alternator whistle" (and already spend many hours and $$$ trying to get rid of id).
The good news is: my GHL is so loud that I don't hear anything anyways

XM in the Boxster S, Wish it was more integrated.
My 911 has an Alpine with built in XM
Be interesting to see how the Sirius/XM merge progresses
(I admit it! I listen to Opie and Anthony)

It must be the fact that I'm getting old but I don't get the big deal about Satellite Radio. Regular radio is fine and gives me what I need 90% of the time for NO EXTRA COST. The other 10% of the time, I will plug in my mp3 player (again why IPOD for extra cash when I can get another brand much cheaper).
I know you'll tell me that the sound is much better or you can pick and choose what you are listening to and there are either no commercials or less commercials but none of that would sway me to spend my hard earned cash on something that I currently get for free.
Anyways, I spend most of the time just listening to that beautiful flat-6 music behind my head.
