The Boxster engines penchant for consuming Mobil 1 is well-documented but on both 987s that I've had the car also consumes coolant more than one would think (for a new car).
Both times (987 and 987S), around 12k or so on the clock, I happened to check the coolant level from the trunk and it was significantly below the "min" line at a cold-engine point without triggering the low-coolant light (that the manual says should be triggered) at start-up.
Point being, fellow 987 owners may want to keep their eye on the coolant. The engine oil-low indicator works pretty well, but it seems the low-coolant sensor, not so much.
