gemballa mirage?

i was reading the article in Excellence, and they did 2 wheels on one side of the car silver, and the other 2 on the other side black.

whats the deal with that?

That's something I've seen done on other cars. Different color wheels or even different wheels altogether.

You only see one side at a time anyway.

I remember one Lexus at the LA Auto Show a few years back had different wheels on each side. When I asked the sponsor of the car whats up with that he said most people don't even notice it because they can never remember what the other side looked like anyway. People expect it to look the same on each side therefore they don't recall.

It's mainly done just to show more options for the the car on display. And easier for photo shoots to take pictures of one side at a time, and not have to change all 4 wheels at once. I doubt they drive it around like that in public.
