It finally broke...

The plastic hinge on my center console busted while I was putting in my short shifter this week. I know this happens rather frequently and that there is a fix available. I found the tech bulletin on another site and printed it out. Now I just need to know where to get the retrofit/repair kit and what's it cost? I read about the dealer supposedly fixing this prob under warranty but my car is looong past that at about 105k. I sincerely appreciate any information provided.

I think you can get it from Epiq (a forum sponsor). You'll need to get a rivet tool to get it done.

I have the kit (somewhere) and the rivel tool, but I have been too lazy to do the job. All those screws in the center console seem like a pain to tackle.

Thanks Randall,
I went ahead and ordered the part from Vertex because they were the only place I could find it. I guess I'll be in the garage next Satuday morning learning how to use a pop riveting tool!
