I agree with the other posts – it depends on what you want.

After I burned through my stock mats in a year, I figured I needed something a bit more heavy duty so I picked up these rubber mats:

http://www.autoanything.com/floor-mats/64A2570A0A0.aspx

It actually looks really cool in the car (they were custom cut for the Box), and I don’t worry about tracking in snow or salt anymore. That stuff all melts and collects in the hexes in the mat protecting the carpet – every now and then I just hose the mats down. Very effective, very rugged and very cheap.

After almost pulling the trigger on Lloyd Mats (around $100) I remembered these:
https://xweb4.milliken.com/YEW/YESProductLine/Floormats/

Check out this video... https://xweb4.milliken.com/NR/rdonlyres/513334F5-B31C-49D5-AD0B-6B5043DBBA6A/0/YESEssentials.wmv

They are the same price as Lloyd's, are far superior from what I see and I have a 10% promo code if you want it. I got the code by calling Milliken direct. (It never hurts to ask, I always say....5 minutes on phone = 10% discount!) Free shipping as well.

No, I don't work for these guys, I hardly know them, but I remembered finding them awhile back and this thread spurred me to try to find them. Since my '05's mats are already worn through, I've ordered a set for the Boxster as well as a front/rear for wifes LL Bean Outback. I'll try to remember to post back when they arrive.

The Lloyd mats (Ultimats) are more than twice as thick as OEM mats - soft, and customizable. Great product...

Weathertech

I just picked up a set of black Weathertech mats for my 987. They were about $60 bucks, and they fit the footwell perfectly. (cut to fit your make and model) It is a nice, heavy rubber mat that traps all of the dirt, snow, and water that you might bring into your car. I wish Porsche made a good OEM rubber floormat, but this set is probably just as good as what the dealer would give you.

That's my $.02

Looks similar in concept to the ones I picked up - great for those NJ winters.

Hi,

Don't mean to hi-jack the thread, but on a related note, if soiled, check w/ your local Dry Cleaners. Many are now advertising cleaning carpeted Floormats. One close to me charges $5 for the set and they come back looking brand new. Of course, this assumes yours are simply soiled and not worn. Hope this helps...

Good tip, Jim...I'll ask Mr. & Mrs. Chen the next time I go to the dry-cleaners.
