Midwest Eurosport

My buddy has a track prep'd 993 and has been going to them for years. They have an excellent reputation in IL. They charge about 2/3 the labor rate of the dealers & parts are comparable. Where you really save money is time - they don't drag out the billable hours like dealers often will. Here are 3 examples of service I had:

30K Service - Dealer quoted $1349. Eurosport did it for $520! (seriously)
Inner & outer CV Boots - Dealer quoted $1400. Eurosport did it for $505.
F&R Brake pads - Dealer wanted $1200. Eurosport did it for $478.

Also, they cleared a CEL for me and when I offered to pay for 1 hour labor, they said don't worry about it. They work on all Porsche's - 924, 914, 944, 968, 964, 993, 986, 997, etc. They understand that not everybody has a GT3 RS and work to accomodate everybody.

European Performance in Raleigh, NC is great. I have a 01 2.7, and they just replaced the RMS, clutch, fly wheel and a few other things. They specialize in P-Cars and are very good at what they do.

I dont know how they quoted you those prices but I went today to pay them a visit and inquire about them installing my Evo intake and headers. They stated that they "HAVE TO" drop the engine to install the intake (6 to 8 hrs) and 2 to 3 hours on the headers. Personally, I dont think that they were that helpful especially how easy they informed me that they "HAVE TO" drop the engine to install a simple intake i informed them that they were the only Porsche repair place that has made that statement. Every other place states 2 to 3 hours to do the intake them 6 to 8 hours

Midwest Eurosport

I am very surprised as well. I am new to Boxster ownership but recently acquired an 04 Silver Anniversary Boxster S. One of my good friends races a 944 turbo and recommended Midwest Eurosport. The dealer quoted 1,200 dollars for 30K maintenance and they were able to do it for only 370. They were efficient and professional. I will be going back again come March (hopefully when the snow clears)

Does anyone recommend other garages?

This thread is a great idea as a starting point for something very useful. But its becoming very cumbersome to use or find anything one might need. Would someone consider summarizing the responses by city or area, create a chart, something useful so we don't have to go through 75 or more responses to find something relevant. And then keep it updated. Doing so might get a few more responses too, which, of course would be added to the summary! lol. Lots of work I know! Since the moderators don't have anything else to do, this might be a good task for them to enhance the site!

Well I'm new to this forum but not to Auto mech. or Porsches. I don't see alot of people from here in my area but anybody in the central Va area (I'm in Charlottesville) in need of help, advice or just someone to work on thier car drop me PM.
I would be glad to help out, or just do it. The shop I work at is a good place, and i am the only Porsche mech. they have.

I have no direct experience with Midwest Eurosport, but I have been warned against them by a PCA friend. He said that they are known for overcharging and doing less than they promise. But that's hearsay.

I CAN recommend:
Fischer Motorsports
22221 N. HILLVIEW DRIVE
LAKE BARRINGTON, IL 60010
847.304.8822

I've been very happy with them. Not only are their charges reasonable, but the shop is clean, and they (especially Rick) are professional and friendly. They come highly recommended from the same PCA friend, but I am happy to be using them.

Recently picked up my 01 Boxter and had it serviced at Midwest Eurosport.

They found a few things that needed attention while recommending one to watch (prepping the area to monitor) and another that could wait. Gave very detailed info and pictures of everything.

Roy walked me around the car when I picked it up and took the time to answer my questions and give an overall appraisal of the general condition. They even scoped the pistons during my CV boot replacement and didn't charge me.

I will definitely be going back here, very happy with the price and quality of the service.
