Phoenix and San Antonio

In Phoenix, Beck's is good. He's on Cave Creek North of Dunlap. In San Antonio European Car Parts hasn't treated me wrong and they seem to know what they are doing. Owner seems to be an honest guy.

I just had my trans (tip) replaced and some other things done by a shop in Laguna Hills called Vision Motorsports, they were very upfront with q and a's and resonable considering the job and other shop I checked into. They mostly built race cars but also service drivers. Check out there website. I would go back.

Mechanic for my Boxster in Maryland

I am the proud new owner of a 2003 low mileage Boxster (about 31k), I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for Mechanics near Highland, Maryland zip code 20777. The DC/Metro area, Columbia, Clarksville, Rockville, and Baltimore are all relatively close, I would appreciate any suggestions for good shops. Thanks!

I could drive to the dealership in Tampa (45minutes or so), but would rather not. Just looking for a shop to do routine stuff

Does anyone think this post should be re-done?

I think it would be more useful if it only listed shops that people HERE have ACTUALLY USED. Use the phone book for a list of shops... use this forum for actual reviews... meaningful data!

Am I the only one that thinks as such?

Mind Over Motorsports in San Diego. This is a terrific shop that has serviced my car before i purchased it from a pca member. I'm usually very specific when it comes to my car and couldn't be happier

Marque Motors in Portland, Oregon (Johns Landing). P cars only. Kurt there is terrific and all his mechanics are top flight too. They cared for my 911's and are quick, fairly priced, and very meticulous--without any BS. They do a lot of race prep and restorations as well as road car maintenance. Can't speak too highly of them.

Looking for Porsche mechanic in Charleston, SC

Just moving from South-East Georgia to Charleston, South Carolina. Purchased a 2002 Boxster S in December. Want/need to get 60,000 mile service done. Closest dealership (Hilton Head) wants $1800. Anyone know of a good shop/mechanic in the Charleston area?

Thumbs up

I had my clutch just done and these guys were quick and reasonable. The dealer wanted $1700 and they did it $1200 including the main seal. Just ask for Angel and tell him Angelo sent ya. The shop is in Oviedo, FL just north of UCF.

anything in the Austin/San Antonio,Texas area?

would be cool if someone cool "summarize" all the posts and keep it updated on the first post, instead of having to wade through all the posts to find your specific area.

just an idea.

Careful with quoting prices. I'm 100% sure that your price did not include a new flywheel. I know what he is paying for the parts and he can eat the labor. IF you had needed a new flywheel, they are nearly $800 by themselves (and more and more of them are not reusable)

Just don't want people to expect one thing, and then learn different once he gets the car apart. He really has no way of telling you if it will need a flywheel or not until he gets it apart (if it doesn't show up broken on the test drive)

Dealer is pretty good but looking for a good independent as a backup.

P.A.T. is a complete rip-off. Stay-away - there customers are called PATsies

Daytona, Florida

I'm looking for an independent Boxster mechanic in the Daytona, Florida area. The Orlando dealer is good, however I don't have time to drive an hour each way, mid-week, for service.

Small shop run by a guy who has been working in the local dealerships for a while. Good guy and meticulous. Has been a solid alternative to paying dealership shop prices so far.
