Hi All. New to the forums and started here to see if anyone knows of a good Porsche mechanic in the Gainesville, FL area. I see plenty in Jacksonville and Daytona which are about 2 hours from me, but they appear to be sparse in my neck of the woods. Thanks so much!!

Thanks Anker. Someone else recommended them recently as well. Was wondering if anyone on the boards had used anyone in the Gainesville area?

Hey, I called this shop to talk about fixing the top- it was stuck closed. I asked if they could help me make the top manual. They gave me two options: take in and pay them $400 to disconnect the motor and the ball joints or use the 19mm wrench on the v lever and do it myself. We need more authenticity like this. They are doing my oil and maintenance for sure.

Denver Area

Any recommendations for a shop in the Denver area?

986patrick 05-12-2017 03:21 PM

I prefer to do work myself but in San Jose, CA I have found that if you are looking for bang for your buck you go to the dealership. I have been pricing out the indys for trans, oil and brake service and none of them came close to the price at Stevens Creek Porsche. It's 280 to 350 for an oil change on a 2000 Boxster BASE at 3 of the top indys and you don't even get a loaner car. Whereas at the dealership is about $200 with my PCA discount and you get a Porsche loaner car for the day!

I have never seen this before with other brands and is a bit odd. I blame the rising costs of real estate... :(

No, I DO NOT work for the dealership.

What is the name of the de facto expert in Dallas?

I'm a long time Porsche owner and have owned a 911, a 914 (when I was 16 years old), a 928 S and two months ago bought my first Boxster. I restore cars as a hobby

Out of all these cars I think I have to say that the Boxster is my favorite, it's just a spectacularly good handling car and super fun to drive.

This Boxster is a 99 model with low mileage. I paid a modest premium because of the low mileage thinking I was going to get a car that would be in relatively good condition.
When I bought the car it was filthy and looked pretty bad but over the last month I've cleaned it up and it looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor but unfortunately mechanically I think the car has been neglected because In the few weeks I've owned it's been To Porsche three times and it's really starting to cost a fortune....

There are still issues I'm finding that I don't particularly want to tackle myself and I'm very picky about my cars so anyone that has the information of who is an expert and reasonable in the Dallas area would be greatly appreciated.

Looking for the best shop in the Sacramento area to do a PPI on a 97-98 Boxster. Would love to have a Porsche only shop take a look at it, but it seems as though IPB-Autosport may be my best bet?

I want to find a shop that can do a great, thorough PPI while also advising me on the way to converting the Boxster to a spec build for PCA club racing. Would be a big plus if there was a performance/racing shop in the area that someone could recommend. Thanks in advance..

Looking for mechanic in Wake Forest, NC area

I am new to this group. I just bought a 2006 Boxster a few weeks ago with 32000 miles. Looking for a mechanic/garage (Raleigh or Wake Forest, NC area) to handle any potential issues I may run into. I don't mind if it's a mechanic that works out of his/her private garage. Just as long as they are trustworthy and do good work at a reasonable price. Thank you.

Hopefully, Chris/Deserion will answer this since he lives nearby, but does anyone have a preference between Omega Motorsports, Pulse Racing and Technical Dimensions in Jacksonville, FL?

Hi Jack my porsche boxster 3.4 custom 490 hp 3.3 0-60 was made in 2012 I fell in love with this car, and before this was porsche boxster 2.0 265hp made in 2007 and I can say that the new machine is much better and less likely to break. Very cool of course gift to his son, probably he is a fine fellow), I can advise you only what is better to take with 4 doors, since it will be easier, but I think you will make the right choice. With regard to insurance, I have been working as an insurance broker for many years and I can advise you to read this site. Http: //www.cheapautoinsurance.com/ How much I would not look for different sites, on this you will find the most current insurance and information about them.
And yes I think you can take his car =)
Good luck!

Eurospec in North County San Diego

Go see Tom at Eurospec in Escondido. He's as honest as they come. I've been going to him for about 10 years now. :)

I've used both of these guys with good results:

German Auto Specialists
1215 E. Ridge Pike
Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania

Rayco Eurospec
Wyoming Avenue
Kingston, Pennsylvania

German Auto Specialists did a very comprehensive PPI of my first Boxster. Rayco is local to me and is my go-to for the work I don't do myself.

I'm going to endorse Everyone's Garage in Harbor City, CA
He's as knowledgeable as the best of them here in LA and has been working on P Cars 30+ years!
My regular guy who was on vacation (who many of you use, I am sure) and I found Ruben in the interim.
Now I have 2 great options in the south bay area!
